The iPad Pro 13 M4 still goes for over $1,000 on Amazon at the time of writing, yet is still held back from being the macOS convertible it could be, even in its latest public beta. Its rival from Huawei might not have the same problem soon.
The company is getting serious about the cross-platform nature of its HarmonyOS software by contrast, according to the typically knowledgeable leaker Fixed Focus Digital. It is now projected to "fully integrate" its maker's PCs and tablets over time, up to the point where the MatePad series might be able to use MateBook apps in the future.
Then again, those changes might not come into effect until the latest HarmonyOS 6 beta ("API20") is stable.
The tablets currently include 13.2- and 12.2-inch Pro variants, although they might have an even bigger 14.2-inch successor that could, moreover, still boast a high-end OLED panel. Then again, its Kirin 9-series processor might lose out to the M5 platform in terms of performance.
